I was in a meeting the other day where some people, mostly from the US, were talking about new plans, new jobs – well, a lot of new things. I may be because I am Dutch, so I am not easily ruffled, but it struck me as odd that the speakers were using the words ‘I’m excited’ a lot when they were explaining what was to come. It was in fact used so much,  hat the impact was lost imho. Like judges in a televised talent show, trying to outdo each other when complimenting a candidate.

As I said, it may be because I am Dutch and we tend to be a little more down tuned. When we want to tell people we’re really excited about a new job, or project, we use words like ‘leuk’ (nice), ‘interessant’ (interesting) or ‘ik heb er zin in’ (I really feel like it).

This font, Exxxited (yes, with three x’s and without a c) was the result of this bizarre online meeting. It is a loud, in your face kind of font – ideally suited for posters, book covers and campaigns. I hope you’ll get excited!
